Your September, 2016 Wine Selections

What is Vinoterica?

Well, you've got your "Vino"—everybody knows what that is—but what wine should you drink? Maybe it's time for something a little different, unusual, off-the-beaten-path from what the wine aisle in the grocery store has to offer. Maybe something a little "esoteric"?

My pleasure is to bring you a new wine adventure every month! As a Vinoterica member, you'll receive a monthly delivery of two esoteric, eclectic and inspired wines from around the world—the very best interplay of terroir, varietal, and winecraft! And all for the low subscription price of $35/mo (+ tax; pickup at Bocanova), or $50/mo (tax & overnight shipping incl).

Plus, your membership includes some great Bocanova perks, such as a 20% discount on our special Rick's Supper Club 1st Thursday wine dinners (member + 1 guest); 50% off wines from our list whenever you dine at the restaurant (max. party of 6); and the ability to purchase wines from our list for home consumption at a price generally lower than retail.
All in all, it's a great deal!

David Fetcho
Vinoterica Wine Club Director

Terms of Membership: Your Vinoterica subscription is charged to your credit/debit card via PayPal the day you sign up, and the same day of each succeeding month.
The $35/mo (+ tax) rate requires that wines be picked up at the restaurant.
We will gladly ship your wines within California for $50/mo (tax & shipping included). If wines are not picked up within a reasonable time, your wines will be shipped for an additional charge of $12.

It's like Burgundy in Chile—top quality you can actually afford!

2011 Viña Acquitania Sol de Sol Chardonnay

(Traiguen, Malleco Valley, Chile)

Close your eyes, and this is a fine white Burgundy from France. With perfect integration of oak, the plush and expansive body holds treasures of ripe melon, roasted peach, mineral and vanilla. With no malolactic conversion, there's a finely pointed acidity that keeps the riches in balance, while delivering a finish blooming with floral notes and lingering spiciness.

2012 Amayna Pinot Noir
(Leyda Valley, Casa Blanca, Chile)

The gravity fed winery and vineyards sit just 7 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Marine influence and poor soils create ideal conditions for this violet soaked, deeply complex wine with notes of vanilla & spice. A fresh salinity driven by red fruit reverberates on the palate with rose petal and a subtle toastyness, while fine tannins support the wine's equipoise and persistence. The name, Amayna, loosely translates as the calm on the water or the calm before a storm. You choose!
